New Parent Guide
The Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society (CMDSS) is a non-profit organization comprised of parents who have children with Down syndrome and live in the Central Mississippi area.
We have compiled this Parent Guide to help parents-to-be and new parents who are going through a similar experience.
First and foremost, we want you to remember: Your child will be ok, you will be okay.
Secondly, we want you to know: You are not alone.
Transitioning to Adulthood Guide
Welcome to the Central MS Down Syndrome Society’s Transitioning to Adulthood Guide. If you are reading this Guide, you may have a young child with Down syndrome for whom you are making future plans.
You may also have a child preparing to phase out of the school system and enter the world of adulthood! Whatever age your child is, as they grow and reach towards adulthood, parents and guardians must consider what will happen once their loved one with Down syndrome phases out of the school system.
