2022 Buddy Walk

Join us for the 20th Annual Central Mississippi Buddy Walk on October 1, 2022 at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. Over 1500 participants attend this event, forming teams in honor of our “buddies” with developmental disabilities. In addition to the Buddy Walk, the event includes games, lunch and entertainment, as well as a silent auction.

Bring your tailgating tents and cornhole boards for this year’s Buddy Walk event! We will be slinging hot dogs and burgers on the cooker and of course lots of dancing! We will be celebrating this year with our theme: “Buddy Walk of Fame”

Interesting in sponsoring the event?

What is the Buddy Walk®?
The Buddy Walk® was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) in 1995 to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October and to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. The Buddy Walk® has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to nearly 300 walks today. Each year, more than $12 million is raised across the country and around the world to support local programs and services, as well as national advocacy and public awareness initiatives of NDSS that benefit all individuals with Down syndrome.

Central Mississippi Down Syndrome Society holds their Buddy Walk® in Pearl, Mississippi each October.
